Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of vaethra.com, terminal.vaethra.com, atropos.vaethra.com, the API at api.vaethra.com, and the customer workspace at workspace.vaethra.com (together, the “Services”). By using the Services you agree to them. Where a signed order form or enterprise agreement covers your use of the API or the workspace, that agreement takes precedence over these terms where the two differ.
1. Who you are contracting with
The Services are provided by Vaethra Technologies LLC, a limited liability company organised under the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, with its mailing address at 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801, United States (“Vaethra”, “we”, “us”). Using the Services means you accept these terms.
2. What the Services are
Vaethra aggregates public data about global disruption — conflict, shipping routes, energy, natural hazards, food, health, economy, infrastructure, cyber, society and space — and applies statistical models to it. Some output is a measurement of something observed. Some is a model estimate or a forecast. The interface labels which is which, and shows the source and timestamp of every record. Read those labels: they are the most important part of the product.
The free products are the Terminal and Atropos, in a browser, with no account. The API is licensed: programmatic access needs a key issued under an agreement with us, and the fifteen paths that answer without one — health, status, uptime, the published figures, the accuracy record, the documentation and the like — are open so that you can monitor and verify the service without buying it. The workspace is where an API customer's staff administer keys and members; it has accounts, and an enterprise agreement governs what is held in it.
3. No warranty, and no advice
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, except where a signed agreement says otherwise.
Specifically, and without limiting that:
- Nothing here is investment, financial or trading advice. Prices and market series are contextual and may be delayed, revised or wrong. Do not trade on them.
- Nothing here is security, travel, medical or safety advice. Do not use the Services as a sole basis for decisions about anyone's physical safety. For that, use official government and emergency sources.
- Forecasts are model output and are frequently wrong. Where a corridor has been backtested we publish the accuracy record, including the misses. Elsewhere the output is indicative only.
- Upstream data may be incomplete, delayed, revised or withdrawn, and absence of an event in the Services is not evidence that nothing happened.
4. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vaethra and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Services — including any decision made in reliance on them. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and a signed agreement may set its own limits.
5. Acceptable use
You may read, query, quote and build on the Services, including for commercial purposes, subject to the source licences in §6 and to the licence attached to your key where you hold one. You may not:
- exceed the rate limit your key carries (600 requests per minute on Teams, 6,000 on an enterprise agreement), or otherwise degrade the Services for others;
- call the API from your own code without a key, or share, lend or circumvent a key — a key identifies one integration and is yours to rotate;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Services, or probe or test their security without permission (see §9);
- use the Services to build a profile of, harass, or endanger any individual;
- present model output as verified fact, or restate it in a way that strips the labelling and sourcing the interface attaches to it;
- misrepresent the Services as your own, or imply endorsement.
6. Data, sources and attribution
The underlying data comes from many providers, each under its own licence and terms — some open, some requiring attribution, some restricting redistribution. The Services show the source of every record so you can check its licence before you rely on or republish it. Those licences bind you directly, and it is your responsibility to comply with them. Some sources are used for internal analysis only and are deliberately not displayed. Bulk extracts and redistribution rights are licensed per source, in writing.
Vaethra's own material — the interface, the models, the dependency graph, the scoring and the written analysis — remains ours.
7. Availability and notice
The free products are offered without any uptime commitment, and we may change, suspend or discontinue any part of them at any time. For a licensed key, the commitments are the ones on the support page and, where one exists, in your agreement: a breaking change to the API — a field removed, a type changed, an endpoint retired — is announced 90 days ahead by email to every active key holder and in the changelog; a field added is not a breaking change, and a client should tolerate one it has not seen. An availability commitment with service credits exists only on an enterprise agreement — the Enterprise Service Addendum — measured as availability describes.
8. The workspace and personal data
An account in the workspace is for the staff of an API customer and is governed by that customer's agreement. Where Vaethra processes personal data on a customer's behalf, the Data Processing Agreement is incorporated into these terms by reference and applies. What Vaethra holds about you as a visitor, an enquirer or an account holder is set out in the Privacy Notice.
9. Security reports
If you believe you have found a security problem, please tell us at security@vaethra.com before disclosing it publicly, and give us a reasonable opportunity to fix it. We welcome good-faith reports and will not pursue action over research conducted responsibly: without accessing or altering other people's data, without degrading the Services for others, and without automated scanning that amounts to a denial-of-service.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date above will change when we do. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the revised terms. A signed agreement changes only by the process it sets out.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts sitting in Wyoming have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing here removes a consumer's right to the mandatory protections of the law where they live, or a data subject's rights under the Data Processing Agreement.
