Terms of Use

Last updated 28 August 2026
The short version. Vaethra Terminal is free and open to use. It is an analytical tool, not advice — not financial, legal, security or safety advice — and it must never be the only thing you rely on where people or money are at stake. Please do not hammer the public API.

These terms govern your use of vaethra.com, terminal.vaethra.com and the public API at api.vaethra.com (the “Services”). By using the Services you agree to them.

1. What the Services are

Vaethra aggregates public data about global disruption — conflict, shipping routes, energy, natural hazards, food, infrastructure and cyber — and applies statistical models to it. Some output is a measurement of something observed. Some is a model estimate or a forecast. The interface labels which is which, and shows the source and timestamp of every record. Read those labels: they are the most important part of the product.

2. No warranty, and no advice

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Specifically, and without limiting that:

3. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vaethra and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Services — including any decision made in reliance on them. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

4. Acceptable use

You may read, query, quote and build on the Services, including for commercial purposes, subject to the source licences in §5. You may not:

5. Data, sources and attribution

The underlying data comes from many providers, each under its own licence and terms — some open, some requiring attribution, some restricting redistribution. The Services show the source of every record so you can check its licence before you rely on or republish it. Those licences bind you directly, and it is your responsibility to comply with them. Some sources are used for internal analysis only and are deliberately not displayed.

Vaethra's own material — the interface, the models, the scoring and the written analysis — remains ours.

6. Availability

The Services are free and offered without any uptime commitment. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of them at any time, including the public API, without notice.

7. Security reports

If you believe you have found a security problem, please tell us at security@vaethra.com before disclosing it publicly, and give us a reasonable opportunity to fix it. We welcome good-faith reports and will not pursue action over research conducted responsibly: without accessing or altering other people's data, without degrading the Services for others, and without automated scanning that amounts to a denial-of-service.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date above will change when we do. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the revised terms.
